Volunteering
Our Volunteer Support Workers (VSWs) are at the heart of our organisation, they choose to be with us to help people in their time of need. Full and free training is given by our experienced team. If you are interested in volunteering with us, take a look at what the role includes below:
- Listening to people, without judgement or prejudice
- Help understanding court language and court processes or remember what has been stated in the court room – in times of stress, people don’t always remember!
- Assisting people facing problems or to come to terms with hard issues
- Being a symbol of strength for people to lean on
- Helping people to get their thoughts in order and make plans
- Identifying needs, referring to other agencies if needed
- Prayer, if someone requests prayer – we are happy to assist
- Sitting with you in court, being a friendly face in the room
